These terms cover the use of the SSEC DFW website (sse.southsudanesecommunity.com) and our member communications, including the SSEC DFW text message (SMS) program. By registering as a member, using this site or opting in to text messages, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. SMS Text Message Program

Program name: SSEC DFW Community Updates.

Program description: When you opt in, the South Sudanese Equatorian Community of DFW will send you text messages about community events and meetings, event reminders and RSVP links, membership and dues notices, executive-portal task notifications (for officers), and occasional community announcements such as birthday greetings.

Message frequency: Message frequency varies. Most members receive about 2–4 messages per month; more may be sent around major community events.

Cost: Message and data rates may apply. SSEC DFW does not charge for text messages, but your mobile carrier's standard messaging and data charges apply. Check with your carrier for details.

Sending number: Messages are sent from our toll-free number, (888) 869-5976.

2. How to Opt In

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of membership, of making a donation, or of any purchase. You can still be a member and receive email communications without opting in to texts.

3. How to Opt Out

You can cancel at any time. Text STOP to (888) 869-5976 and you will receive a one-time confirmation message; after that you will not receive further texts from us unless you opt back in. You can also untick the text-message checkbox on the "Update My Info" page or use the "stop texts" link included in our messages. To opt back in, text START or JOIN, or re-tick the checkbox.

5. Carriers & Delivery

Supported carriers include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and most other U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to effective transmission from your network operator.

6. Your Mobile Number & Privacy

Your mobile number and your text-message consent are used only to send you the SSEC DFW messages described above. We do not sell, rent, share or disclose mobile numbers or SMS opt-in consent to third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Our SMS provider processes messages on our behalf solely to deliver them. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

7. Website Use

Information on this site is provided for community purposes. Member accounts, membership codes and executive-portal logins are personal and may not be shared. Content on this site, including photos and logos, belongs to SSEC DFW or its contributors and may not be reused without permission. We may update these terms from time to time; the "Last Updated" date above shows the current version.
